Emergency Relief Time Extension Workshop

Posted: 6/10/2025

WORKSHOP: July 10, 2025, 9:00AM - 11:00AM PT [CLOSED]

CALTAP is pleased to host this year's Emergency Relief Time Extension Workshop, presented by the Federal Programs teams at Caltrans Division of Local Assistance.

Emergency Relief (ER) projects must reach Construction Authorization (E76 CON) approval within two Federal Fiscal Years (FFYs) from the FFY in which the disaster event began. This webinar will provide a comprehensive overview of the E76 CON requirement for ER projects, including an in-depth review of the ER Time Extension Request Form.

Local agencies with active ER projects from disaster events that began on or before September 30, 2023—including CA-2023 and earlier ER Disaster Events—are strongly encouraged to attend.

Federal Emergency Relief

FHWA's Emergency Relief Program was authorized by Congress to repair or reconstruct federal-aid routes that have suffered serious damage as a direct result of a declared event (23 USC 125).

Available to state/local agency DOTs with roads suffering serious damage from natural disasters or catastrophic failures from external causes, ER funding is intended to supplement other resources to help in the repair of facilities damaged by eligible events.
