Key highlights on regulations, policies, and program funding for the transportation professional
WEBINAR: September 24, 2025, 9:00AM - 10:00AM PT
The National Center for Pavement Preservation's (NCPP) Bridge Preservation Partnership (BPP) Local Agency program is hosting a 1-hour webinar titled "Bridge Bearing Maintenance & Replacement".
This training offers a strategic overview of bridge bearing operations, focusing on their critical role in ensuring long-term structural integrity and performance. Presenters will explore best practices in proactive maintenance to maximize service life and prevent premature failure, thereby protecting significant infrastructure investments.
The curriculum covers a range of common maintenance actions designed to optimize bearing function and extend asset life. A key focus will be on identifying and addressing bearing degradation before it leads to a catastrophic failure. The webinar also addresses the specialized and often costly process of bearing replacement.
The goal is to equip participants with the necessary knowledge to make informed decisions that mitigate risk and enhance the resilience of their bridge network.
This training (once completed), along with previous NCPP trainings, can be found at their video archive.
This training is specifically designed to teach the basics of bridge
maintenance and repair and is geared towards meeting the needs of local agencies.
The National Center for Pavement Preservation (NCPP) was established to lead efforts among government, industry, and academia in the advancement of pavement preservation.
Founded in 2003, NCPP has advanced and improved pavement preservation practices through education, research, and outreach, and expanded its portfolio to include bridge preservation and heavy equipment management.
"There can be no doubt that the transportation sector is the most critical sector of our economy."
