Data-Driven Strategies for Efficient Pavement Systems

Posted: 8/22/2025

WEBINAR: September 5, 2025, 7:30AM - 9:00AM PT

The Transportation Research Board (TRB) is hosting a 90-minute webinar to explore ways to integrate factors such as materials, designs, and data from pavement management databases with construction best practices to promote efficient pavement systems.

Pavement decision-makers have traditionally relied on static decision trees or expert judgment for roadway infrastructure management. But when optimizing for performance and cost efficiency, an approach that considers materials, designs, and data from pavement management databases can be more suitable.

Presenters will provide insights on key challenges and potential solutions for advancing the current state-of-the-art in pavement design, construction, and management.

Webinar Agenda:

  • Introductory Remarks (Krishna Prapoorna, Augusto Cannone Falchetto)
  • Florida DOT Integrating Pavement Database Systems
  • Paving the Way to Better Roads: A Unified Approach
  • Swedish Insights from Pavement Management Systems
  • Q&A Session (moderated by Chait Bhat)

Learning Objectives:

  • Benefits of integrating diverse datasets for efficient pavement management
  • Strategies for overcoming challenges in systemic data integration
  • Insights from experts on best practices and emerging technologies

Complimentary registration is available for employees of TRB sponsors, standing technical committee chairs, involved CRP panel members, tribal government employees, media, congressional staff, & TRB or National Academies staff.
