The International Road Federation is hosting a multi-day workshop on Traffic Crash Investigation: Introduction to Investigation & Reporting that will expose all participants to critical components of the traffic crash investigation ecosystem, so that they are able to understand and appreciate the following ingredients needed to investigate and report on traffic collisions.

This online workshop will cover the main technical issues required for executing Traffic Crash Investigations. The contents will be based on international standards as well as the hands-on experience of the course instructors.

  • Interviewing Techniques for Traffic Accident Investigation & Reporting
  • Roadside Safety, Preparing Crash Reports, & Insurance Fraud

  • Describe the traffic crash investigation & reporting process
  • Explain role of perception-reaction time, visibility factors, & roadside safety
  • Identify/interpret tire marks, roadway evidence, & vehicle damage at a crash scene
  • Apply appropriate techniques to examine roadways & vehicles involved in collisions
  • Conduct effective interviews with parties & witnesses, recognize indicators of insurance fraud, & demonstrate professional conduct during traffic crash investigations

insurance and law enforcement investigators, as well as litigators and legal defenders
