Key highlights on regulations, policies, and program funding for the transportation professional

National Coalition on Truck Parking

Posted: 2/24/2026

WEBINAR: March 4, 2026, 10:00AM - 12:15PM PT

The U.S. Department of Transportation (U.S. DOT) invites stakeholders to join a free virtual meeting of the National Coalition on Truck Parking. This meeting brings together federal leaders and coalition stakeholders to discuss the status of truck parking funding, planning, and development across the nation.

Truck parking shortages remain a critical safety and economic challenge affecting freight movement and driver well-being. Insufficient parking forces drivers to park in unsafe locations, violate hours-of-service regulations, or continue driving while fatigued—all of which increase crash risk and threaten supply chain efficiency. This meeting addresses ongoing efforts to expand truck parking capacity through federal programs and collaborative partnerships.

This virtual meeting is open to all interested parties, including state and local transportation agencies, freight industry representatives, truck stop operators, planning organizations, and safety advocates. The session provides valuable insights into federal resources and collaborative approaches for expanding safe, accessible truck parking infrastructure.
