Crack Seal / Mastic Training

The Center for Tribal Transportation (CTT) presents a comprehensive two-day Crack Seal/Mastic Training course designed specifically for tribal transportation professionals and road maintenance personnel responsible for preserving pavement assets on tribal lands.

This course provides both theoretical knowledge and practical hands-on experience in pavement preservation strategies, with a concentrated focus on crack sealing operations as a foundational and cost-effective pavement maintenance treatment.

Session Highlights:

  • Identifying pavement distress types & selecting appropriate preservation treatments
  • Executing crack sealing operations in accordance with FHWA standards
  • Guidance from FHWA Pavement Preservation and Maintenance manuals
  • BIA road maintenance regulations under 25 CFR Part 170
  • Industry standards from ASTM International and AASHTO
  • Hands-on practical experience in crack sealing application techniques
