Caltrans Office of Civil Rights has launched a Priority Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Reevaluation process. On March 2, 2026, the California Unified Certification Program (CUCP) sent reevaluation notices to the state's DBE firms that received certification prior to October 2, 2025. Over 3,200 DBE firms are being reevaluated, and Caltrans is available to provide technical assistance throughout the process.

This represents roughly 1,200 new projects authorized annually through the Local Assistance Program, of which ~700 are construction related.
