Right-Sizing the Role of Traffic Enforcement

Posted: 6/15/2026

WEBINAR: June 24, 2026, 10:00AM - 11:00AM PT

Right-Sizing the Role of Traffic Enforcement to Advance Roadway Safety is the first in a new series of webinars highlighting key takeaways from Vision Zero Network's recent report, Right-Sizing the Role of Traffic Enforcement: Prioritizing Effective, Cost-Efficient & Equitable Improvements to Road Safety.

This webinar explores why high-volume enforcement falls short, how revenue-driven ticketing traps communities in cycles of debt, and what a right-sized approach can look like in practice. It also explores how Safe System investments — particularly in the built environment, vehicle design, and technology — most effectively reduce the number and severity of crashes while lessening the need for costly, time-intensive traffic stops.

Vision Zero Network will be joined by the ACLU and Policing Project at NYU to present findings from their related Safe Roads for All report, the two sharing significant common ground.

Whether you work in transportation, public health, law enforcement, or advocacy, this session offers practical insights to help move your community toward a road safety approach that is more effective, cost-efficient and equitable.
