Key highlights on regulations, policies, and program funding for the transportation professional
WEBINAR: August 18, 2026, 9:00AM - 10:00AM PT
Using the ISOAP Process to Build Stronger Safety Projects & Secure Funding is a free webinar that introduces local agencies, tribes, MPOs, and transportation practitioners to the ISOAP process by demonstrating how it can strengthen project development and improve competitiveness for state and federal funding opportunities.
Selecting the right safety improvement is one of the most important steps in developing a successful transportation project. The Intersection Safety & Operations Assessment Process (ISOAP), developed by Caltrans, provides a performance-based framework for evaluating intersection alternatives with safety as the primary objective.
Rather than beginning with a predetermined solution, ISOAP helps agencies identify the most effective treatment by considering crash history, roadway context, operational performance, multimodal needs, and the Safe System Approach.

The Safety Navigator for California Communities (SNCC) at Cal Poly provides technical assistance and guidance to California's local agencies, tribes, and communities navigating transportation safety planning and federal funding.
SNCC specializes in helping small, rural, and underserved communities access and compete for competitive grant programs, offering support throughout the application process from initial planning to final submission.
"There can be no doubt that the transportation sector is the most critical sector of our economy."
— Robert Brady
California LTAP supports local public transportation agencies across the state by providing professional training, technical assistance, knowledge transfer, and worksite best practices and innovations that help them plan, manage, and maintain their roadway infrastructure.
