Ohio Roundabouts Conference: Save the Date!
CONFERENCE: December 2, 2026, 8:00AM - 5:00PM PT
Ohio LTAP, in partnership with the Ohio Department of Transportation's (ODOT) Office of Roadway Engineering, is hosting the 2026 Ohio Roundabouts Conference this year in Central Ohio at the Dwell Community Church in Columbus.
This conference brings together transportation planners, design engineers, elected officials, and others who are involved with current or future roundabouts in their communities to focus on all aspects of Roundabouts, including ways to minimize installation costs, designing them to fit your space, multi-lane crash countermeasures, public involvement, construction, maintenance, and more.
Abstracts for presentation at this year's event are now being accepted through August 28th, and should be limited to 30 minutes in length. If you have any questions about abstract submission or the conference itself, please contact Victoria Beale at victoria.beale@dot.ohio.gov or (614) 466-3129.
Both individual presentations and panel discussions are encouraged, and all presenters are eligible to attend the conference at no cost.
Submit your abstract proposal no later than Friday, August 28, 2026.
Multiple abstracts from the same proposer are welcome.
Roundabouts
A roundabout is an FHWA Proven Safety Countermeasure intersection design with a circular configuration that safely and efficiently moves traffic.
They feature channelized, curved approaches that reduce vehicle speed, entry yield control that gives right-of-way to circulating traffic, and provide a counterclockwise flow around a central island that minimizes conflict points.
The net result is an environment where crashes that cause injury or fatality are substantially reduced.
